Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells..

Well, folks, it's almost that time of year again. I'm not really sure where 2010 went but it seems to have gone by in the blink of an eye. Let's see what 2011 brings us.

I'll be flying home for the holidays next Thursday and have a million and one things to do before then so it's very likely that this will be the last blog entry for 2010. It's only been three weeks since I started this blog so it feels a little odd to be taking a break from blogging already, but I promise I'll be back soon enough. I only get the chance to go home once or twice a year (if that) so I hope you'll understand it when I say I'd like to spend that time doing something other than updating a blog or posting "tweets" on Twitter.

But before I sign off, I thought I'd give you a short report of my progress thus far:

8. Work towards another degree/certificate/diploma - I'm currently researching a number of undergraduate certificates and diplomas to see which one fits my needs and interests. I completed an undergraduate certificate in archaeology a few months ago but I've been bitten by the study bug once again. My mother wasn't joking when she nicknamed me "The Eternal Student".

14. Learn basic Turkish/15.  Learn basic Romanian/16. Learn basic Persian - I haven't quite decided which language to start off with but I'm leaning towards Turkish. Romanian would probably be the most logical choice given my background in Spanish and French but Turkish would be much more challenging and there are plenty of opportunities to practice speaking it here in the Netherlands. I'll make my final decision after the Christmas holidays.

22. Attend at least 10 pop or rock concerts - I have tickets to see Maroon 5 and Kylie Minogue in concert next year so I shouldn't have too much trouble completing this task before the 1,001 days are up.

23. Dress up as a celebrity for a fancy dress party - A friend of mine is hosting his annual New Year's fancy dress party on the 30th so this is one task that I will definitely be done with before the clocks strike twelve on New Year's Eve. I'm keeping the details of my costume a secret for now...just in case he's reading this.

60. Have at least 500 people following me on Twitter - I still have a long way to go to reach this target. I have 10 followers to date (not counting myself) so this is something I'll need to work on over the next year or so. If you'd like to follow me on Twitter, you can find me under the username @kellys101list.

Remember, the full list of the 101 tasks I set myself can be found here. Be sure to check back here on a regular basis to see how I progress through that daunting list. 2011 promises to be an exciting year.

Have a very merry Christmas and a fantastic New Year! See you all again in three weeks' time. :)
